All the Departments at Avonbourne took part in Enterprise Events. Below are the inspirational events that took place.
Dragon's Den -19th March 2007

Leaving Ladies Lunch - 27th May 2007
Year 10 prepared a luncheon for Year 11: it was a professional set-up, with menus, waitress service, cooking, planning and even the washing up all done by year 10 and enjoyed by Year 11. To view further pictures of our Leaving Ladies Lunch click here.
Enterprise Day - 12th June 2007
Year 7 took part in a Happy Puzzle, Finance Challenge and Initiative day: a brilliant time fort everyone with CREATIVITY, INNOVATION, RISK-TAKING, CAN-DO ATTITUDE AND MAKE IT HAPPEN at the core!
Mini Olympics - 20th June 2007
Year 9 formed groups and represented different countries, with a brief to raise the capital needed to attend the Olympics, including travel costs and accommodation! Girls competed in a variety of different tasks to great effect!
Primary Schools Festival - 10th July 2007
In July 5 primary Schools took part at Avonbourne school in our Primary Schools Festival. The event was organised by our spotlight mini-company, and the children attended a day-long workshop with an evening performance on a theme of ‘Around the World’. What a brilliant night, ending with ‘Rocking all Over the World’.
Maths Challenge (Stocks and Shares) - 12th July 2007
In July, the Maths department, led by Mr Curtis, organised a maths Challenge based on stocks and shares moving up and down: a really exciting concept.
National Enterprise Week - 12th-16th November 2007
The following Departments took part in this year's Enterprise Week:
Mathematics
The Maths Department completed work on Islamic tiling patterns on International Day and students of various years are working (last week and this week) on an MP3 player advertising task.
English
Prior to Enterprise week, “Books R Us, a Year 9 mini-enterprise company, within the English Department, raised £100.15 FOR Children in Need.
Art
During ENTERPRISE WEEK Year 7&8 were completing Christmas card designs for the Macmillan competition, we will be displaying entries in school ( they are being completed for homework).
Year 9 looked at Marketing and Advertising examples before completing their own exhibition poster designs for the year 9 Pottery Exhibition to be held at Southbourne library, before Christmas.
