Sports Relief Run

Spring term ends and the whole school is going

wild with relief - sports relief!

On Friday the 14th of May Avonbourne school held a sponsored run for sports relief. As soon as the bell went for a super Friday double lunch there was a crowd of people all rushimg for the gym.The costumes were amazing; there were hula girls and cow girls, boxers and cartoon characters, babies, people in pyjamas and lots of other ones as well!

When everyone was dressed and ready to go, Miss Beveridge, the PE teacher blew her whistle and we all stumbled out onto the field to get in to a good starting position.

The whistle screeched and we were off, the fast racing ahead at top speed and the slow trailing behind chatting and snapping pictures at each-other. Within ten miniutes the first people finished the mile, with  the last not long behind. The fun was over, and with lessons to return to, winners and losers walked in as champions of having fun.

Avonbourne certainly enjoyed this event and hope to have more like this in the future!
